Broccoli with Onions & Walnuts

A great way to add a healthy dish, either as a side or an entrée, to your dinner table. You can incorporate rice or quinoa for a quick and tasty meal. The sweet onions and tangy balsamic vinegar bring the fresh flavor of the broccoli to life while the walnuts add a crunchy texture.

Broccoli with Onions & WalnutsIngredients

Serves 4

  • 4 cups broccoli florets

  • 1 cup chopped onion, (medium)

  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

  • 3 tablespoons chopped walnuts

  • Kosher salt

  • Black pepper

How to Make It

  1. Toast walnuts in a medium skillet over low heat, stirring constantly, until lightly browned.

  2. Add oil to the pan and heat over medium heat. Add onion and salt, cook until soft and golden brown.

  3. In a separate pan, steam broccoli until just tender, 2 to 6 minutes. 

  4. Transfer to a large bowl and add the nuts, onion, vinegar and pepper, toss.. Serve and enjoy.
